We went on something of a transdisciplinary romp through the foothills of geometry this week. In Math, we have been exploring circles and measuring spheres as well as other Platonic forms. We estimated the diameter and calculated radius; we traced circumferences and sketched arcs.
In art class, we leveraged our new found academic vocabulary (radius diameter circumference and arcs) to investigate the artistic potential of circles arcs and mandalas.
While our concentration on circles hasn't reached Archimedean levels, we were certainly entranced.
