In today's assembly, we had a young man discuss what would be the best possible pet in the best of all possible worlds. It is a fiercely contested and rather vexed question. Being a sensible sort of fellow, our speaker chose the noble dog; over the dastardly cat, surely all right-thinking people would agree.
Incidentally, he would call his dog 'John', a perfectly reasonable name.
