2B are Scientists!
This week in Life Studies 2B have been learning how plants grow. Using the Science room, 2B conducted their first science experiment to learn how plants get water from the soil to help the plant grow. The students made a prediction before putting a piece of celery into a jar filled with water and food dye. 2B learnt about words scientists uses such as observe, method, materials, record, investigate and explain!
The next day the students went back into the Science room to discover that the celery had changed colour! The students could see the lines of food dye in the celery which showed how the water had traveled up the stick of celery, making the leaves change colour. 2B were very excited about doing their first science experiment and have asked to do more science experiements!
